OAK GROVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. This is a 2,500 SF freestanding addition. Carefully sited to preserve the stand of old oaks for which the school is named. One third grader wrote:"Dear Designer, thank you for giving us such a beautiful library. I like the nice windowseats, it's sunny when I read." Another expressed her feelings this way: "I love the way the windows modify the trees. It soothes my day." James Carr, AIA was Project Architect and lead designer of this project at Bowles, Kendrick & Lemanski, Architects, (now Lemanski & Rockwell) in San Francisco, California.
