Complete renovation of a 7' x 7' (x 10' high) kitchen in New York City. The solution to the design challenge of such a small space was extra-tall custom European style cabinetry with a specially chosen red enamel laquer finish, and a wrap-around natural black Pennsylvania slate countertop, quarried specifically for this project. A rail at mid-height of the upper cabinets, and a ladder built to measure, along with a transluscent, aluminum-framed pocket door (both shop-built for the project by James Carr architecture & design) complete the design with elegance and functionality.
