James Carr brings to each project over twenty five years of professional experience spanning a wide range of expertise, from master planning, design, and construction oversight of residential, commercial, municipal, historic, and educational buildings, to LEED and green building consulting for institutions, corporations, and architects. He has designed & managed all aspects of projects, from schools and solar installations to homes and restaurants — from preliminary planning to shop-fabricating custom design elements.
James Carr founded his architecture and consulting practice in 2004, dedicated to developing beautiful and effective design solutions.
Currently serving on the Town of Brookline Planning Board, and the Select Board’s Climate Action Committee.

Alisa joined James Carr architecture + design in 2013.
Among her many responsibilities, she helps teams carry out sustainable design solutions, including managing LEED and CHPS projects. She also works in architectural design, developing space planning solutions, creating architectural plans and models, writing and editing specifications, and managing construction administration. Additionally, she produces graphic presentations to help clients visualize the potential of their space.
Bill Reed

Bill is an internationally recognized practitioner, lecturer, and leading authority in sustainability, regenerative planning, design, and implementation. His work centers on creating and implementing a whole and living-systems design process.
He is an author of many technical articles and contributor to many books, including co-author of the seminal work, “Integrative Design Guide to Green Building.” He is a founding Board of Director of the USGBC and co-founder of the LEED Green Building Rating System.
