CULINARY BUSINESS INCUBATOR – CHELSEA

James Carr architecture + design, LLC, was tasked with re-imagining an abandoned storefront in Downtown Chelsea as a bustling hub that offers fresh opportunities to culinary entrepreneurs, supporting the local community both socially and economically.

Our team carried out a detailed Feasibility Study exploring the viability of a culinary business incubator and multi-use retail space aligned with the goals of a diverse and growing city. The study included detailed research of comparable local projects, a comprehensive assessment of community needs, public outreach and discussion with local businesses, a thorough examination of codes and regulations, meticulous planning of two alternate architectural options, and a deep dive into the social, economic, and financial potential of the project.

We hope this close collaboration with the Department of Housing Community Development will support the growth and evolution of the wonderful city of Chelsea as a truly unique destination and place for cultural expression and exchange.
